Lithuanian - Belarussian International Economic Forum
"Belarus and the Baltic Sea States: new opportunities for enhanced cooperation"

 


Dear Sir/ Madam,

Since 2005 Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists (LPK) has been organizing the Lithuanian-Belarussian economic forums altogether with Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Lithuania and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus. These forums have effective influence on the bilateral economic cooperation towards the relevant and perspective directions, positive impact on trade dynamics and development of investments. Joint efforts have substantially contributed to the closer and more efficient bilateral contacts.

The amount of trade turnover and mutual investments between Lithuania and Belarus has increased to a considerable degree. All kinds of bilateral events, meetings of high officials, business associates were aimed at extending relationship and building the favorable background for the development of economic cooperation and auspicious conditions for doing business in Belarus.

The involvement of the Republic of Belarus into the activities within the framework of the EU initiative of Eastern Partnership widens the possibilities of cooperation with Belarus in the fields of economy, innovations and environment.

During the Presidency in the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS) Lithuania is taking a task to promote the advantages of cooperation with Belarussian partners. Therefore, this year, the annual Lithuanian-Belarussian Economic Forum turns into an international event bringing together the potential business partners from the entire Baltic Sea region. The thematic title of economic forum is "Belarus - The Baltic Sea States: new opportunities for enhanced cooperation". The participants of the Forum will be welcomed by the Prime Ministers and key ministers of Lithuania and Belarus. The policy makers and businessmen of both the countries and other Baltic Sea states as well as representatives of the European Commission will give reports on the current state of cooperation, recent trends and opportunities in the most important fields of economy and investments. More than hundred stakeholders from Belarus and Baltic Sea states are expected to arrive in Vilnius and take part in the Forum to meet their foreign colleagues.

It is a great pleasure and privilege to invite you to the Lithuanian-Belarussian International Economic Forum that is to be held on 16th September, 2009 in the LITEXPO Exhibition Centre in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.
