A
group of Lithuanian journalists visited
Belarus on 18-19 August. During the two-day trip Lithuanian
journalists had a tour to the most distinct historical, cultural and
business sites of Minsk.
Delegation
consisted of journalists from Lithuanian newspapers ,,Lietuvos
žinios", ,,Verslo žinios", ,,Atgimimas", ,,Республика",
,,Обзор", information agencies ,,Baltic News Service", ,,ELTA", website ,,RU.DELFI.LT"and TV channels ,,BTV", ,, LRT",
,,LTV", ,,TV3".
Lithuanian
journalists attempted familiarize with
Belarusian economic situation and business conditions. On 18 August,
representatives of Lithuanian media visited the capital of Belarus.
They visited Lithuanian Embassy in Minsk and were welcomed by the
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Mr. Edminas Bagdonas.
Later
on, journalists had meetings with Belarusian enterprises ,,Amkodor",
brewery „Alivarija", and visited cultural objects - Minsk‘s
„Stadium" residing at the leisure and sports complex developed by
Lithuanian „Ūkio banko investicinė grupė".
On
19
August, press tour continued to the Gorodeja
city where reporters met the management of Gorodeja sugar factory.
Then the trip proceeded to historical places of Nesvyzius city,
visited the mansion of Radvilos situated at Nesvyzius. They also saw
the Myro castle.
During
the visit to
Grodno city, journalists met with the management of enterprises
,,Grodno-Azot", LEZ
,,Grodnoinvest", ,,Grodnenskij miasokombinat". Lithuanian
delegation was also introduced to the historical center of the city.
At the end of the tour, participants visited the tourism and leisure
complex,,Korobčicy".
The
analogous visit of Belarusian journalists in Lithuania occured on
20-21 August. Delegation consisted of
journalists from TV channels „Столичное телевидение",
"ОNT", agency „Belta", magazines „Советская
Белоруссия" and „Республика"
On
the first day of visit Belarusian media had meetings with the
representatives from Lithuanian Ministry of
Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Transport and
Communications, also visited the European Humanitarian University.
After the presentation of „VEKS 2009" program, guests had an
excursion in Vilnius with visits to the most important cultural and
business objects developing ecological activity - „Verslo
terminalas" UAB, „Traidenis" UAB and „Vilniaus Energija"
boiler-house working on biofuel.
On
the second day of vist, journalists had a tour in Kaunas
where they met Vladimir Romanov, President of „Ūkio banko
investicinė grupė" and Lithuanian economic cooperation business
council with Belarus. After this meeting, media team went to Klaipėda
and saw „Klaipėdos smeltė", „BEGA" and „KLASCO"
terminals, also visited Klaipėda LEZ.
